Despite an impressive display at the weekend, coming back to draw after going 2-0, Wolves fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are in agreement that their side is in desperate need of strengthening.
One fan in particular is insistent that the side are in desperate need of offensive reinforcement, and it looks like new Wolves boss Walter Zenga agrees.
The good news is that, according to reports in Sky Sports, the club have bid an impressive £5 million for Derby County’s prolific front man Chris Martin, who has topped Derby’s goalscoring charts for the last three seasons.
The bad news? The bad news is that the bid has reportedly been rejected by Derby, with The Rams reportedly keen to hold on to their star forward.
Wolves have been keen to splash the cash this summer, after the arrival of new Chinese owners, having already brought in five players so far this summer, and they are seemingly desperate to increase their options up top.
Unfortunately however, word around the Football Transfer Tavern is that Wolves fans shouldn’t be too hopeful of a second bid, with journalist and Wolves expert Tim Spiers suggesting that the club aren’t likely to up their bid for the star attacker.
Wolves either taking a flyer or had encouragment to bid. Kind of player they should be looking at. Unlikely to bid much more than £6.5m tho'

What do you think Wolves fans? Surely his goal scoring record warrants another bid? Or do you think they can get better bang for their buck elsewhere?
