Yosuke Ideguchi leaves Leeds on loan

Leeds United continue to reduce their squad numbers this summer as they have let another fringe player depart from Elland Road.

According to an announcement on the club’s official website, Yosuke Ideguchi has been sent on loan to SpVgg Greuther Furth for the upcoming season.

The Japan international is yet to make an appearance for the Whites and is set for his second temporary move away from Yorkshire since arriving from Gamba Osaka in January 2018.

The midfielder was thought to be on the cusp of Marcelo Bielsa’s plans, however, the Argentine had revealed earlier in the season that it would be difficult to give the 21-year-old the game time he deserved in Yorkshire.

Having spent time on loan in Spain with Cultural Leonesa, Ideguchi will be looking to use his temporary stay with the 2. Bundesliga outfit as an opportunity to get regular football and also try to give Bielsa something to think about, should he return to Elland Road.

The Verdict:

A loan move to the lower leagues of Germany could work out well for Ideguchi.

The midfielder did not get a real opportunity during his time in Spain and Bielsa was honest when speaking about the chances he would have if he remained in Yorkshire.

The 21-year-old will be looking to kick on now with his career, as he will want to return to the Japan international setup, as well as having the chance to impress Leeds and show them what they are missing out on.
