Everton fans on Twitter delighted to see Michael Keane back in the England squad

Everton defender Michael Keane has been rewarded for the terrific football he has been playing for the Toffees this season by being recalled to Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the upcoming matches against the U.S.A. and Croatia, and the club’s fans feel no-one deserves it more than him.

Apart from missing two Premier League matches at the beginning of the September, the former Burnley man has started and played the full 90 minutes in all of the club’s matches. Keane has formed a quite formidable partnership with Kurt Zouma as Marco Silva tries to build the ideal squad that could make Everton a competitive force again.

The 25-year-old made his debut for the Three Lions in a friendly against Germany in March last year, while he made three World Cup qualifying appearances for Southgate’s side against Slovenia and twice against Lithuania. He was however left out of the manager’s squad that travelled to Russia for the World Cup.

Keane is one of two Evertonians in the squad with goalkeeper Jordan Pickford also making the cut again.
