Sheffield Wednesday: Fans react to Garry Monk’s comments about Sam Hutchinson’s absence

Sam Hutchinson and Keiren Westwood have both been dropped from the Sheffield Wednesday first-team by Garry Monk, who has only just explained the reasons behind their absence.
The Owls are yet to win a match since Hutchinson was first left out, yet it doesn’t seem like Monk has any plans to bring him back into the fray, which is rather surprising. He has been an important player for Wednesday over the years whenever fit, and naturally, fans are disappointed to see him fall out of favour.
However, the Owls’ boss points to that reason (via the Star) as the cause for his exclusion, arguing that he can’t judge players on their past achievements and has to instead focus on the “here and now”.
Some supporters are unconvinced by Monk’s position, however, as the team is on a run of one win in ten league games and therefore is not coping well without Hutchinson or Westwood.
Here is the response to the Wednesday manager’s comments.
How stupid does GM think we are. We have a battle on our hands and we need players who can step up. I would rather be in the trenches with Hutch and go out fighting than with the rest of the snowflakes who just go through the motions week in week out.

Another embarrassing interview. Here and now, well yeah… Here and now innit

He would rather play players that are use to losing and have no drive.

Agree with Monk. We have too many players who are constantly injured, Hooper was the same. Fletcher has been injured every year. He’s been in good form but we pay him a fortune every season and only get half a season out of him. You can’t build a team on this.

If rather take a 1 handed Westwood and a 1 legged Hutchinson over Dawson and Pelupessy 😂😂😂😂😂 #monkout

End of debate, they can’t perform consistently due to injuries so they don’t get a chance. Quite simple really. Can we shut up about it now please.

I can understand Hutch can’t play every game, we all know this, and if there was someone better then I’d be all for it, but we’ve seen what everyone else plays like and it’s not good enough. Even if this is the case why make him train with the U23s? It still doesn’t make sense.
