Leeds United: Many fans annoyed at latest update on Che Adams transfer link

Leeds United may be desperate to bring in a striker after they let Eddie Nketiah return to Arsenal, leaving Patrick Bamford as their only notable striker. Indeed, they’ve been pursuing Southampton’s Che Adams all through this month, but the Saints have rejected their approaches and one journalist shed light on the situation on Thursday.
In a tweet, Dan Sheldon, a reporter for the Southern Daily Echo, said Southampton are in a sense of ‘bemusement” at why Leeds are continuing to chase the 23-year-old striker when they’ve been “firmly told” it won’t happen. Since signing for the Saints in summer, Adams has made just eight Premier League starts and hasn’t scored once.
Still, his 22 Championship goals for Birmingham last season will likely be why Leeds are so keen to bring him back to the division to provide competition for Bamford, who missed a penalty in the recent loss to QPR. However, when Whites fans heard that the club are still chasing what seems to be a lost cause, they replied to the tweet showing how disappointed they are in their own club’s hierarchy.
#SaintsFC‘s position on Che Adams remains the same – there’s no interest in letting him go. There is a growing sense of bemusement behind the scenes as to why Leeds are continuing to pursue Adams when they’ve been firmly told it’s a deal that won’t happen.

Because we are beyond incompetent.

Why do I have the feeling that they’ll drag it on until deadline day and let him leave on the 31st but shut it down on the minute

Probably to cover our arse’s for when we don’t sign anyone to say we tried!

Because we want to waste the whole January window pursuing him then when deadline day comes and goes we can blame Southampton for not landing a new striker

Another January window another keeper and another year we fail to land a potential target player. All adds up to one thing the club is failing again

Leeds fans, do you feel the club should continue to pursue Che Adams this month?
