Many Leicester fans took to social media to air their frustrations with Ben Chilwell after the Foxes slipped to another shock defeat at the hands of lowly Norwich City on Friday.
The 1-0 loss to the Premier League’s bottom club was undoubtedly another poor result for Brendan Rodgers’ side (BBC). The result means the Foxes are without a Premier League win since January, putting Champions League qualification in doubt for the first time this season. Leicester are now just eight points clear of fifth-placed Manchester United with 10 games remaining.
Following the shock result, Foxes fans were quick to single out the highly-rated Chilwell for losing his man in the build-up to Jamal Lewis’ winning goal.
Despite Leicester fashioning 19 attempts on goal on the match and failing to score any, many fans felt that England’s first choice left-back was to blame for the result. Chilwell scored a match rating of 6.66 on Friday night, only beaten by three other Leicester players (via WhoScored). In fact, Chilwell’s performance this season is rated as the club’s sixth best – but it appears this lapse in concentration has cost him some fans on Filbert Way.
Here are some of the fan reactions…
Chilwell just let him take you on for jokes and get the cross in, pathetic. #LCFC

Chilwell’s fault for the goal, Barnes not good enough, no creativity and we lose the ball when pressured. A very real danger of slipping out the top 4!
