Luton fans on Twitter cannot believe how poor the officials were last night

The Hatters are certainly going to be playing Championship football next season. Despite the fact that this time last season they were in League Two, the Bedfordshire club are absolutely flying, and last night’s 2-2 draw was just a blip on their way to the title. However, it could easily have been three points instead of one.

It should have been yet another win for Mick Harford as the Hatters’ boss, especially in front of a rocking Kenilworth Road. However, the chances kept on coming and coming for Luton to put the game to bed and they continually failed to do so. In the end. it came back to bite them, as with the score a 2-1 to the home side, Wimbledon got some luck as an offside equaliser counted.
It can be easy to blame the officials in games like these, but given the way that the Hatters kept missing chances and fluffing their lines in a relentless second-half, you can’t bemoan the referees’ performance too much. Promotion should still be a formality, especially considering they sit three points clear of 2nd with just two games left, but the fans won’t be happy if they get some more shocking officiating against Burton Albion and Oxford United.

This is why I cashed out on 72 mins .. the referee made so many bad decisions and should've produced at least 3 yellow cards and that 2.2 equaliser was so offside .. Luton should've scored more but the official's made so bad decisions.. apart from that it was a fantastic game

Worst officiating performance ever?

LuaLua gets bundled over in the penalty area but goes down rather dramatically and the referee isn’t interested. If it’s a dive then where’s the yellow card?

Think referee Ben Toner has only just worked out the playing on rule. Berry cleaned out by up come the arms and Town can continue.

The Hatters were not at all pleased with the referee’s performance yesterday, but can only blame themselves for their lack of a clinical touch.
