Queens Park Rangers have confirmed the signing of Scotland international Jordan Archer on a two-year contract.

In 2020/21, the London-born goalkeeper made a combined 10 appearances for Motherwell and Middlesbrough [Transfermarkt].

Released from his contract at the Riverside Stadium at the end of May [qpr.co.uk], he will now provide competition for current Hoops number one Seny Dieng in his new role.

Former R’s goalkeeper Liam Kelly recently decided to leave the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium in order to join Motherwell on a permanent deal, enabling Archer to step in as his replacement [West London Sport].

In light of this news, many Queens Park Rangers fans took to Twitter to vent their frustration at these recent developments. Archer shipped 17 goals in 10 matches last season, keeping just one clean sheet [Transfermarkt], whereas Kelly managed seven shutouts in 21 games on loan at Motherwell during the campaign [Transfermarkt].
