Sheffield Wednesday: Fans slam Tommy Lee’s opinion on the club’s goalkeeping options

Ex-shot-stopper and former Sheffield Wednesday academy coach Tommy Lee has given his thoughts on the club’s goalkeeping options, but fans don’t agree with his take.
The No.1 spot is a hot topic amongst Owls fans as Garry Monk has a choice between making either Cameron Dawson or Joe Wildsmith his first choice goalkeeper. Wednesday also have the option of veterans Keiren Westwood and Paul Jones registered in their senior squad.
Lee has commented that the Owls are well-stacked in their goalkeeping department, stating it’s “one of the areas where the football club is really healthy” (via Yorkshire Live). However, fans couldn’t disagree with the former player any more. Responding to Dom Howson’s tweet relaying Lee’s comments from the interview, supporters have let rip on what they believe to be poor goalkeeping options.
One fan has slammed Lee’s comments, telling him to ‘behave’, whilst another had said they wish they could agree with him…
Westwood does a Sicky for thirty thousand a week and the other two are flappers, especially in last minute. Behave.

Sorry not often I disagree with you Dom but I do here Monk clearly doesn’t want Westwood for me I always feel we’ll concede with Dawson in goal Wildsmith is a backup if we lose Westwood I think a new keeper is needed

I wish I could agree…..

Have to disagree. Apart from Westwood who will leave at the end of the season we haven’t got a stand out keeper. Just average keepers.

Lower end championship keepers at best. We’ve missed a massive trick not getting them out on loan in the last few seasons. Keeper would be my priority signing.

Without Westwood, I don’t think we have a keeper to finish in the top 6 next season
