Sheffield Wednesday: Fans fume over Barnsley club statement

Barnsley have name-dropped Sheffield Wednesday in a strongly-worded letter of defiance to the English Football League.
According to The Guardian (relayed by Dom Howson for Yorkshire Live), Barnsley have stated that they will not accept relegation should the season be unable to proceed. The Tykes are currently rock bottom of the Championship table and will face the drop if the 2019/20 campaign is decided on points per game.
Is Garry Monk the right man for Sheffield Wednesday?
Yes

No

However, the club are not willing to accept demotion to League One due to the fact that Wednesday and Derby County are currently facing disciplinary hearings over the controversial sales of their respective stadia. As such, should the hearings find the two clubs guilty of misconduct, they will be hit with fines and/or points deductions (via The Guardian).
Many Owls fans have responded to Howson’s update on this matter and they aren’t happy with Barnsley’s statement. One supporter has slammed the club and called them ‘desperate’ whilst another has said they are ‘still bitter’.

Perhaps if they showed this type of fight on the pitch, they might not be rock bottom. Desperate.
