A lot of Sheffield Wednesday fans have been reacting to a tweet from Owls journalist Dom Howson in which he relayed a major development in Wednesday’s manager hunt, sharing that Paul Cook has applied for the manager’s position at Hillsborough.
Cook last managed Wigan Athletic, where he worked from 31st May 2017 until 1st August 2020, per Transfermarkt.
As explained in an article Howson recently wrote for YorkshireLive, which he shared in his tweet, Cook is keen on a return to management, with the 53-year-old recently declaring on Sky Sports that he’s “desperate to get back into football.”
Additionally, per YorkshireLive, he has been praising Sheffield Wednesday, stating on Sky Sports that: “Sheffield Wednesday is an absolutely massive football club. It would be a fantastic club for anyone to manage so while I’m being linked with it, it is obviously very flattering.”
