‘Sounds like a goodbye’ – Not many Aston Villa fans on Twitter are feeling confident

As far as incomings go, not much is going on at Aston Villa right now.

And that isn’t likely to change until the Villans make some player sales this summer. The club are currently in a delicate financial situation after missing out on promotion to the Premier League.

One player that has been linked with a move away from Villa Park is Jack Grealish, with both Tottenham and Chelsea said to be interested in signing the 22-year-old, according to Sky Sports.

Grealish is likely to bring in a good sum of money, especially if a bidding war breaks out between Premier League giants such as Chelsea and Tottenham. Regardless of how much money Aston Villa can get for Grealish though, supporters will be extremely disappointed to see one of the club’s most talented youth products leave Villa Park.

Ultimately, the Villans need the funds, but losing the £5m-rated (via Transfermarkt) Grealish will significantly weaken Steve Bruce’s side going into the new Championship campaign.

With or without Grealish, however, Aston Villa are in a very unfavourable position compared to any of their potential promotion rivals.

Villa fans are certainly feeling uneasy at this moment of time and, for those who were hopeful of Grealish staying at the club for at least another season, the attacking midfielder’s latest Twitter post would’ve done no favours to any of those optimists.

Take a look at Aston Villa fans’ responses to Grealish’s cryptic tweet below…
