Sunderland: Fans react to Stewart Donald’s return to the Stadium of Light

Sunderland picked up a massive win over Ipswich on Saturday, with the appearance of club owner Stewart Donald perking the attention of many Black Cats supporters.
Phil Parkinson should be delighted with his players as they overcame their promotion rivals in a 1-0 win that takes them above the Tractor Boys and into the play-off places once again. Promotion surely remains very much the target and, if they continue to play as they did on Saturday, they should be able to beat most opposition.
Donald will certainly want to see more after he made his return to the Stadium of Light after a few weeks of speculation about the possibility of a takeover. Last week, a £35m valuation (via Off the Pitch) was rumoured to be his asking price, but with Sunderland FPP being dissolved (per the Echo), there was uncertainty over a potential takeover by the American trio who loaned Donald money in late 2019.
Would Sunderland have gone up under Jack Ross?
Yes

No

Regardless of the takeover, the owner’s attendance combined with a feel-good spirit around the stadium is encouraging for Sunderland, and some fans were accepting of his decision to come and watch.
He can do as he pleases. It’s his club. Nothing to do with anyone else. 🙄

Absolutely his perogative. Let’s have some ‘entente cordiale’, for a change. That would be novel.

Good. He owns the club so should be there taking an interest and watching how things are going.

More than welcome to watch the lads anytime anywhere

Shocked, I thought it wasn’t safe for him to attend? Surely not another untruth?
