Sunderland fans on Twitter calling for one more draw after Pompey win

Sunderland fans have been used to seeing their side draw games this season. Jack Ross has seen out 19 draws in the 46 game League One season, and whilst it may have been a real problem in the league, now they’ve got a slender 1-0 lead in their play-off semi-final they’d love one more draw. It won’t be easy, but the Mackems are desperate for it.
So far so good at the midway stage!
We will take a narrow advantage down to Fratton Park on Thursday.

Jack Ross’ side welcomed Kenny Jackett’s Portsmouth to the Stadium of Light and went toe-to-toe with them in an incredibly tense clash, in the end, a moment of brilliance separated the tie as Chris Maguire volleyed home a superb effort. Now, though, with a trip to Fratton Park up next the Wearside club will do anything to get their last stalemate of the season.
No side in League One has lost fewer games than the Black Cats this season, and so long as they avoid defeat against Portsmouth next time out it doesn’t matter what the scoreline is. A Wembley final beckons for whoever can come out on top on Thursday, and with either Charlton or Portsmouth waiting, both Sunderland and Pompey will be backing themselves to make it to the Championship.

Narrow it might be but psychologically this is a huge win against a side we hadn't beaten this season. Every player on the field gave everything and it paid off.

The Mackems are desperate for one more draw against Portsmouth and will hope they can do enough to see themselves through to the playoff final on Thursday.
