As Everton boss David Moyes continues to fret over the lack of funds available to strengthen his squad, his worries are set to escalate as Mikel Arteta has admitted he wants a move back to Spain.
This revelation is set to be a cause for concern for Moyes, and he will certainly be keen to hold on to his prized asset as he looks to attract top quality to the club with his cut down budget.
Arteta has been a hit on Merseyside since he signed back in 2005, and if the fan favourite walks away from Goodison this summer for the small sum of £12m, I believe the Everton gaffer would find it extremely difficult to replace such quality.
The Sunday People has indicated Valencia, Villarreal and Sevilla are all set to battle it out to bring the creative mid-middleman back to his native county.
If Everton were to sell their star player, whom has been named the clubs player of the season twice, it would certainly open the door and allow David Moyes to stroll into the transfer market.
But realistically, who would they get to fill the MASSIVE boots Arteta would leave behind. Plus, surely the main priority is to bolster their attacking options and bring in striker.
Hopefully for all the Evertonians out there, this is just speculation that will amount to zilch… And Arteta will kick off the new campaign plying his trade in the Premiership.
