£15M Bid Due From Italian Giants

Calciomercato.it are reporting that John Obi Mikel could be set to leave Chelsea this summer, with Italian giants Juventus preparing a bid for the Nigerian.

Chelsea are likely to be willing to sell the midfielder this summer as he has struggled to make a massive impact on the team in his time at the club. Injuries have affected his development and with Essien and Ramires in the set-up, as well as new boss Villas-Boas looking to bring in new recruits, it could be time for him to move on.

The Turin club are looking to offer £15Million for the 24-year-old and Chelsea are willing to listen to offers.

Juventus are planning big things this summer as they look to become one of the big players in European football again. With the club making a formal offer for Atletico Madrid striker Sergio ‘Kun’ Aguero, they have really showed their intent to splash the cash this transfer window.

Mikel is set to be the new rock in the centre of their midfield as Mohamed Sissoko is reportedly leaving the club this summer.

The Chelsea midfielder has been a controversial figure in England after his proposed transfer to Manchester United was scuppered by their biggest rivals back in 2005. It is highly unlikely that Sir Alex Ferguson is too disappointed in the Nigerian’s change of heart at the last minute looking back on things, with the player becoming a bit-part player at Stamford Bridge.

Mikel has had some highlights in his time at Chelsea with Premier League and FA Cup wins but it could be time for the controversial figure to take the next step in his career…next stop, Juventus.
