West Ham have been linked with a host of forward players since Manuel Pellegrini succeeded David Moyes as manager back in May.
The likes of Javier Pastore and Felipe Anderson, who is rumoured to be close to securing a move to the London Stadium, as reported by the Telegraph, have been targeted by Pellegrini. However, the former Manchester City and Real Madrid manager has also looked to strengthen the east London club’s defence by bringing in French centre-half Issa Dop and goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.
In the left-back position, Pellegrini already has Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku at his disposal, although both have been used in centre-back and left wing-back roles under Moyes.
The possible acquisition of Lukaku – valued at £7m by Transfermarkt – would suggest that Pellegrini may not be totally convinced with his left-back options, though, the Belgium international isn’t the most convincing of defenders himself.
While Lukaku certainty has the physical attributes, his defending – 1v1 in particular – can be very suspect. But if the 23-year-old is coming in to give Pellegrini options and depth in that position, then there are certainly worse options out there.

Anybody but Masusku he has no idea how to defend

Just don’t get the Masuaku hype, can’t defend so Lukaku would surely be challenging Cressie, plus poor end product in the final 3rd. Just hope Pellegrini can improve him at either end of the pitch.

I don’t think Masuaku is a left back his more of a left midfielder. So I think it will be Cresswell and Lukaku fighting it out . Health competition
