Arsenal consider cut price deal

adler.jpgArsenal seem to be the talk of the town here in the Football Transfer Tavern as it is claimed by the Daily Mirror that the club are interested in making a move for Hamburg’s Rene Adler.

Arsene Wenger is of course looking to rebuild his squad in the summer and in recent weeks the club have been linked not only with a shock move for Spanish international and Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas but also for Stoke City stopper Asmir Begovic.

It now seems that Wenger is set to look elsewhere for his new keeper after being told that Begovic will cost at least £15 million to prize away from the Britannia Stadium and the Frenchman is not willing to pay such a high amount. Of course should the Potters go down, that price may well decrease especially if Begovic decides to leave the club of his own accord.

Adler would cost in the region of £5 million should the Gunners make a move for him this summer and at 6 ft 3 in tall would certainly provide a commanding presence in between the sticks at the Emirates Stadium. The only thing that does seem something of a certainty as we approach the summer for Arsenal is the fact that the club will be bringing in a keeper – just who this is however remains to be seen.

Will Adler represent value for money for Arsenal? Will he rock up at the Emirates? Rate this rumour below.
