For the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern, signing a new forward should be priority number one for Arsene Wenger…
Arsenal have lacked firepower over the last few years, failing to really invest adequately up front, and whilst Olivier Giroud has been a decent option, last year he struggled when starting for the Gunners.
Clearly, then, Arsenal should look to sign a new striker this summer, and it appears as though the club are working towards that end. According to Football.London, Arsenal are ‘growing increasingly confident’ that they will sign French forward Kylian Mbappe this summer, with the club said to be ready to make a big money offer for the striker.
Of course, any deal will be difficult to come by, but with Wenger confident, he certainly appears ready to at least try and land his man.
Whilst investing into the striker would certainly come at significant cost, there is no doubting that he would be worth the financial outlay. He had a stellar year last season, bagging 15 league goals, impressing both domestically and continentally.
Crucially, he is still just 18-years-old, meaning that last season was likely only a part of what he may be capable of in the future. His best years are still far ahead of him, so there is no doubting that Arsenal would get their money’s worth.
