The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are loving reports regarding their side’s apparent summer plans.
The Reds have already had a brilliant summer, with the capture of Fabionho and the impending arrival of Naby Keita, and it’s fair to say that another deal or two could really help take them to the next level.
That next deal, it seems, could come in the form of one of Europe’s most exciting young players, at least according to Mundo Deportivo.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool hold an interest in Real Madrid ace Marco Asensio – and the young Spaniard has yet to indicate that he would be against the idea of a move away, though he also hasn’t confirmed that he would be interested in leaving either.
The Liverpool attack is already the most potent aspect of their team, and it’s fair to say that the introduction if Asensio would take it to the next level entirely.
But how exactly would he fit in, especially given how much talent is already at the club?
LW – Sadio Mane
Sadio Mane offers incredible pace and directness, and he was deadly for Liverpool last term.
He makes life a misery for opposing defenders with his constant desire to get forward and create magic.
He might not score as many goals as the people around him, but he’s just as important, especially in Jurgen Klopp’s current system that relies so much on wingers.
CAM – Marco Asensio
Liverpool are in need of a Philippe Coutinho replacement, and with Adam Lallana’s injury record well documented, it’s fair to say that a move for a player like Asensio makes sense.
He’s a creative master, with an incredible eye for a pass and unrivalled technical ability.
A brilliant dribbler, passer, and shooter, the Spaniard doesn’t really have any downsides to his game.
The Reds don’t have anyone like him in the squad at present, and so he’d be a brilliant addition.
RW – Mohamed Salah
What else can be said about Mohamed Salah that hasn’t already been noted?
The Egyptian was the star of the show at Anfield last season, scoring goals for fun and running at defences like nobody else in the Premier League.
He truly was unstoppable going forward, and that’s a testament to his quality.
Jurgen Klopp will be hoping that he goes to the next level next season.
ST – Roberto Firmino
Roberto Firmino is one of Europe’s best forwards, and he’ll be the focal point of the team next season.
There’s nobody quite like him in Europe at present, with his incredible technical ability arguably unrivalled amongst the best on the continent.
He really picked up his goalscoring last term, and so the Reds will want to see more of the same next year.
