Aston Villa should bolster promotion hopes with move for prolific striker

The Aston Villa fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern weren’t best pleased last season and their poor early season form ensured that it wasn’t an instant return to the top flight for the Villains.

Steve Bruce is the manager at the West Midlands-based club and he will undoubtedly have the sole task of taking the club back to the top flight next season.

After spending heavily on his squad during the summer it seems unlikely that Bruce will go on a spree this summer, although one or two stellar additions could be made to the current squad.

The Villains must at least reach the play-offs next season and with an ambitious board overseeing operations then Bruce knows that he must call upon all his promotion expertise.

One man that could be a quality signing for Villa during the summer months is Leeds United striker Chris Wood.

The New Zealander netted 30 goals for the club during the 2016/17 campaign but with the managerial situation showing no sign of altering Wood could opt to move to pastures new.

A couple of Aston Villa fans have got into something of a heated debate with a couple of Leeds supporters here in the Tavern, over who is the bigger club and where Wood would be better served.

The Villa fans would certainly welcome a striker as prolific as Wood, stating that he would be a quality signing for the club and he could fire them to promotion.

Aston Villa fans, would you welcome Wood to the club? Let us know in the comments below!!!
