Bad news for Liverpool as deal for lethal forward looks unlikely, fans will be dissapointed

There was a real sense of excitement and enthusiasm amongst the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern earlier this week, with the club linked with a move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang…

The deal looked like a match made in heaven. Liverpool have been lacking a top forward since the departure of Luis Suarez, whilst the club were also said to be willing to pay big money to land one. The Gabon international certainly fits the mould, and the Reds in the pub were quickly in dreamland.

However, according to The Times, any deal to bring the striker to Anfield is unlikely – with the Reds said to have no interest in the signing. Significantly, citing sources in Germany, The Times reports that the player had a bad relationship with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp at Borussia Dortmund, perhaps indicating that the player would have little interest in a move.

This news has gone down like a lead balloon in the pub, with many fans already preparing to get the player’s name on the back of their new shirts ahead of next season. With a record of 31 goals in 31 league stars, you certainly can’t blame them for getting over excited.

However, it instead looks like they are going to have to wait a while yet before learning of any striking additions, with the Reds seemingly with a lot of work to do if Klopp is to improve his strikeforce this summer. The good news, though, is that a move for Mohamed Salah is said to be close, which is certainly a boost.
