Bendtner is apparently unhappy at his lack of opportunities at the club and will be looking to move on, at least on loan, in January.
Milan have already expressed an interest following Flippo Inzaghi’s knee injury and would consider a loan move in the new year. Villa’s interest seems a little more concrete though, given the shaky form of John Carew and injured Emile Heskey, they have only had a recently back-to-fitness Gabriel Agbonlahor to rely on. Bendtner could be the perfect solution to Villa’s striking issues.
Last week, Bayern caught wind of this and now plan to make a swoop for Bendtner come January. Germany legend Franz Beckenbauer, a member of the club’s advisory board, said this when questioned about the possibility of a move for the Dane:
““Yes, he is among some players, who have done very well – both for Denmark and for his club, and who has got the class and the potential to play in a club like Bayern Munich, where we already have a lot of class players.”
He may be one of the greatest players of all time, but I do fear Der Kaiser is losing it a bit in his old age. Which ever way you look at it, you could hardly say that Bendtner has class. I’m finding the fact that he seems to gathering so much interest mind boggling.
Villa may struggle to get the Dane in January given the foreign interest and Arsenal may not want to loan him within the same league. This will probably encourage Houllier to get out the checkbook to force the hand of the Gunners, at roughly £10million, I would snap their hand off.
Before you leave Nicklas, make sure you leave that lovely partner of yours here. We could do with some real class in this country!
