The Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be excited to see which players come in to the club this summer after the surprise appointment of Marcelo Bielsa as manager.
Bielsa’s reputation with fellow managers across Europe has seen the Whites linked with a number of young players on loan, most recently Juan Foyth of Spurs and Phil Foden of Manchester City.
However, according to The Sun, Pep Guardiola has said Foden will not be heading out on loan next season and the youngest ever Premier League winner will remain at City to continue his development.
With this deal seemingly dead, Bielsa and Leeds should look to Chelsea for an equally talented young Englishman who may be available on loan.
Mason Mount lit-up the Dutch Eredivisie last season while on loan with Vitesse Arnhem in what seems like a right of passage for any Chelsea youngster these days.
The 19-year-old scored 14 goals and provided nine assists in just 25 league games last season. With his ability to create chances by dribbling past players or finding the key pass he would be ideally placed to play in-behind a striker in the Championship.
Mount also has seven goals in 16 appearances for the England U19 side.
With a long queue for first-team opportunities at Chelsea, Mount may well look to go out on loan for the 2018/19 season and with Bielsa’s appointment Leeds are now an extremely attractive prospect for any young player looking to improve.
Leeds fans – what would you think of this potential deal?
