Villas Boas is to ramp up his efforts to reinforce his squad and now eyes up Brazilian international Kaka(29.)
The move seems to signal that Chelsea are coming to terms with the fact that Modric looks set to stay at White Heart lane because of Spurs reluctant to sell their prized asset. I’m sure Modric would be red faced with embarrasment to hear himself compared with the former Ballon d’Or winner.
If I were a Chelsea fan I would not loose much sleep over failing to prise Modric form the North Londoners. Kaka has more medals than most, he is a World Cup winner and Champions League winner and so already possess a winner’s mentality that often proves vital in the end of season run in.
Kaka would be a credit to the Premier League with his silky skills, intelligent passing and deadly marksmanship. Granted at 29 he is not exactly young for a footballer, but he is still younger than the likes of the drog, lamps and Malouda.
Also Essien is out for at least the first half of the season and Kaka, although of a more offensive mindset, could provide cover. Obi Mikel, for the most part still flatters to deceive and Ramires is still a raw talent coming to terms with the physicality of the EPL.
Kaka would add depth and pass his experience on to the the youth who are desperate to make the grade and could only benefit from his unbeatable experience in world football. The man is an inspiration and an ideal role model for the young footballers – sadly that cannot be said for one or two players in the current Chelsea squad.
The prize Chelsea crave most is the one they have yet to win; the Champions League is what cements your reputation on not just a European level but Globally too, Kaka possess experience to lifting this most converted of trophies.
