The Champions League threw up a few interesting draws for us at the Football Transfer Tavern and as Marca report, one player that was keen to avoid his parent club Barcelona is AC Milan’s Bojan who is currently on loan in Italy from the Catalan giants.
The player has been farmed out to Italy on loan after struggling for form in Spain and Bojan enjoyed a spell at Roma last term. Whist he is happy in Italy, his father and agent claims that the player would one day like to return to Barcelona.
His father claimed: “Bojan is in a privileged situation, as he represents two great clubs in Milan and Barça. A return to Barça can’t be ruled out”. Of course the fact that Milan could pay out the 14 million euros it would take to secure the player permanently could throw a spanner in the works for Bojan. Bojan senior also referred to the relationship between Tito Vilanova and his son, disclosing: “anything could happen, the fact is that he and Tito Vilanova always had a good relationship and mutual appreciation”.
Of course whilst Bojan may well long for a return to the club many feel is the best in the world, not to mention the privilege of playing with Xavi and Iniesta week in week out, it is doubtful that the club would want him back. What current club AC Milan think of these latest comments also remains to be seen, but as our landlord points out, it is unlikely to have done the player any favours!
