Bolton Wanderers fans playing darts here in the Transfer Tavern are reacting to reports that their manager fears for his future at the club.
The Bolton News is reporting that Neil Lennon is fearful that he could lose his job once a proposed takeover of the club goes through.
Bolton have a had torrid start to the campaign and currently find themselves at the foot of the Championship table.
Bolton have picked up just five points from the last 33 available, and with the bank accounts frozen at the club it has made the job more difficult for the manager.
Speaking about his fears, Lennon said: “What might happen is that investors might want to make a change – I have to be realistic about that.
“Results haven’t been good and the buck stops with the manager.
“But it needs investment or the club will run out of money, possibly, and you don’t want a situation like that.
The Bolton fans in the Transfer Tavern although unhappy with the performances, would like Lennon to be given more time once the takeover is complete and has money available to build a squad capable of success.
Our landlord here in the Tavern has to agree with the Bolton fans, and says Lennon has been given literally no money to mould his own squad, so he should be given a chance!
