Boost for Mourinho: Good injury news for Man Utd ahead of Champions League clash

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to their side’s clash with Sevilla on Wednesday. They’ve had to watch on whilst many of their Premier League rivals take to the field in Europe, but now it is their time to show the rest of Europe what they’re made of.

They’re clearly the favourites ahead of the game, but Sevilla are a dangerous and threatening team that cannot be taken lightly. Fortunately, ahead of the game, the Red Devils have been handed a rather significant boost.

As revealed by Rob Dawson of ESPN over on Twitter, and later confirmed in pictures released by Man Utd this afternoon, Man Utd have been handed a significant fitness boost – with both Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic returning to training for the Red Devils ahead of the clash.

Jose Mourinho had previously noted that both players were not 100% certain to be involved in the game, and whilst that could still be the case, the fact that they are training is certainly a good sign.

Paul Pogba missed Man Utd’s game against Huddersfield in the FA Cup, whilst Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been out of action since December.

It’s fair to say that their respective returns have left our resident Red Devils feeling very excited indeed.

Landlord’s Verdict

Zlatan Ibrahimovic hasn’t been at his best when he has played this season, but he proved last season that he is still a top player. Not to mention, his experience in the Champions League could be crucial.

Paul Pogba, meanwhile, is an undisputed starter for the Red Devils, and so his return is massive for the club.

Good news all round for the Red Devils.
