Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern share their manager’s belief after talkSPORT revealed Jose Mourinho’s desire to keep his side intact in the summer and only add to it.
With the Blues being a dominant force this season, it is no surprise that other clubs are interested to poach some of their stars from Stamford Bridge.
But Mourinho is keen to keep hold of his title-winning squad and he only hopes to buy players rather than sell.
Not only does he have to fight off interest from other clubs but he also has to keep hold of players like Branislav Ivanovic, who is out of contract in the summer.
“The first thing I want is to keep my players,” Mourinho said when asked about his summer objectives. “I think we are going to do that.
“Last year I was keen to see some people leave and our club to raise some funds to buy other players, but this season I am so happy with what my squad gave me so it’s fundamental to keep them and get the best out of them.”
Punters in the Tavern are sure that the Special One has an eye on bringing players into the club as he will look strengthen his side for Europe, after falling short to Paris Saint-Germain earlier on this season.
But if deos want to bring anyone in, it is likely he will have to sell one his players, to balance out the Financial Fair Play rules.
