The Chelsea fans in The Transfer Tavern are playing a pool tournament this evening, and discussing reports that a current Premier League manager has been sounded out about becoming the club’s new boss next season.
Chiliean outlet El Mercurio is reporting (via Metro) that current Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini’s representatives have been approached by officials from Stamford Bridge with an ‘attractive offer’ – over the possibility of the Chilean taking control of the club from next season.
Pellegrini will be out of work in the summer following news that Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola will be taking over the reigns at the Etihad Stadium next season.
The news has encouraged the current Premier League champions to make him the club’s new manager, and according to reports an attractive package for him take over the reigns at the club has already been offered.
Pellegrini was told last month that the club would be appointing Guardiola next season, and it remains to be seen if he fancies another shot at the Premier League title with Chelsea, or fancies a change of scene, but one thing is for sure the popular manager will not be short of offers once the season has ended.
The Chelsea fans in The Transfer Tavern are delighted to be linked with a manager with Pellegrini’s credentials and would love him to come and make his mark at the club, and get them fighting at the right end of the table come next season!
Meanwhile, a handful of Chelsea fans think the club should be looking at Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino!
