It is with a keen interest here at the Football Transfer Tavern that we keep our eye on the progress of young stars across Europe and one Real Madrid star has been on our radar for a while now. Álvaro Medrán has been lighting up Los Blancos’ youth squads and has now been tied down by the club for the foreseeable future according to Marca.
The midfielder has been attracting glances from a host of scouting networks across Europe, including that of Chelsea and Manchester City, yet the Spanish champions have moved swiftly to keep the 18-year-old under contract, and with the player’s dream being to “make it in a los blancos shirt”, he will aim to work his way up the ranks in the Spanish capital.
Mainly playing as a creative midfielder, Medrán has been instrumental this season in the Under-18 team who were victorious in their first 16 fixtures this season. This form hasn’t gone unnoticed with Spanish scouts at Chelsea having been interested and also a promotion to the Real Madrid Castilla team reportedly around the corner.
