For the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern, the Diego Costa saga looks likely to have only one ending…
That ending could be coming sooner than expected, too, with The Mirror reporting that Chelsea have named their price for the striker, with the club looking to seal a £50 million deal this summer. Indeed, perhaps surprisingly, Atletico Madrid are said to be interested in the move, despite the fact that they are unable to register him until 2018, and so the Blues could well have a realistic buyer for the Spaniard.
It will certainly be a shame to see Costa leave Stamford Bridge, with the Spaniard a crucial part of proceedings since moving to the Blues.
Of course, his remarkable goalscoring record is impressive in itself, but beyond that, his actual playstyle is perfect for the Premier League. He is quick, he is a hard-worker, and he is a real team player, and that has been crucial for the Blues over the last few years.
However, that being said, his aggressive personality has divided supporters, and so many are ready for him to leave the club – particularly if reported links with Robert Lewandowski ring true.
Still, should Costa leave, it will be a sad day for Chelsea, and whoever replaces him will find it tough to fill his boots.
