With Chelsea once again under new management in the form or Italian Maurizio Sarri, expectations will once again be renewed at the Bridge in terms of winning the Premier League.
The Blues have had a quiet window in the main, and despite the capture of Italian midfielder Jorginho, there is a sense of disappointment among Chelsea fans in the main, who were expecting to see a host of new names arrive at the club following the appointment of Sarri.
However, there is time, and it would be a big surprise to see the Blues not make at least one new signing before the window slams shut.
We here at the Transfer Tavern have been doing our own bit of scouting over the summer, and we think that the club need to think big, with Bayern Munich and Spain midfielder Thiago the top of our list for players the Blues should sign.
Valued at £54m, the little midfielder has been superb for Munich over the last couple of seasons, with Pep Guardiola big fan of the player during his time over in Germany.
Thiago is a genuine world class talent, and with the mindset ingrained in him from his time with Barcelona to play one and two touch football, he would be a superb addition for Chelsea.
With Cesc Fabregas not getting any younger, Jorginho still relatively unproven, and Tiemoue Bakayoko continuing to struggle, the signing of another quality central midfielder like Thiago would no doubt go down a treat with the Stamford Bridge faithful.
Chelsea fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
