According to the Mirror, Chelsea loanee Marco van Ginkel is set to make U-turn regarding his future as he is now set to fight for his future at AC Milan.
It has been previously reported in the Football Transfer Tavern that the 21-year-old was set to return to Stamford Bridge in January, but his agent now says van Ginkel wants to stay at the San Siro.
His agent, Karel Jansen, publicly said his player would be on his way back to London after only being on the fringes of the squad.
This comes as a shock to punters in the Tavern as he has only played 31 minutes in Serie A, after only managing to play 10 minutes for Chelsea last season due to injuries.
But Jansen has now turned the situation on its head by saying his young talent is staying in Italy.
He said: “Marco’s job is to continue working to make sure he is ready when called upon. There are no plans in place to return to Chelsea in January.”
