‘A teenage dream is, so hard to beat’ according to The Undertones, and it seems that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger would agree with the Belfast Punk band.
A respected national newspaper (scratch that…The Daily Mail) is reporting that Wenger is mulling over a deal for Swedish teenage sensations Kristoffer Olsson and Robert Mirosavic. The lads have been on trial at Arsenal twice now, and have impressed the coaching staff so much that the Gunners may want to offer them both contracts.
Nobody seems to know an awful lot about either player, except that they’re Swedish and can play football quite well. It seems that Olsson in particular has impressed at the Emirates. The 15 year old, who plays for IFK Norrkopings in his native land, managed to get a game in the Under 16s against Crystal Palace. He has also been linked with a move to Juventus.
As for Mirosavic, at 16 he’s already had an offer from Helsingborgs, but is keen to play for Arsenal and told the press in Sweden that a move to the London club would be a dream come true. To be fair, Arsenal’s youth facilities are amongst the best in the world, and if either of the boys were to be signed then it would be an excellent career move.
If they were to sign however, it would be another nail in the coffin of my footballing career. These two were still in short trousers when I was finishing university!
