Here at the Football Transfer Tavern we do not even stop on a weekend and speculation is rife after one of our punters tells us that Sky Sports are reporting that Everton defender Johnny Heitinga is looking to leave the Goodison Park outfit.
The defender has seen himself fall sharply in the pecking order this season and as our landlord points out, this is despite the Dutchman being voted the club’s Player of the Year last term. After only making eight appearances this campaign, Heitinga wants out and like any good agent, has been touting around his services.
The 29-year-old did look like signing a new deal in the summer but as we all know too well, a great deal can change in football during that time and now Rob Jansen – the aforementioned agent disclosed that the player was: “definitely not happy” at Everton.
With regards to a new destination for the defender, Jensen claimed that: “he is looking at a solution. When an appropriate situation arises for a transfer, we will certainly not ignore it.” Turkish side Fenerbahce are rumoured to be looking at the player and from what we can gather, no offer will be ignored.
