The West Ham fans here at the Football Transfer Tavern are waiting desperately for news of and summer deals at the London Stadium. While there is nothing on that front yet, the club have announced on man will be leaving.
The club have confirmed that midfielder Havard Nordtveit will be joining Bundesliga side Hoffenheim having completed a move from east London.
The 32-cap Norway international failed to make a real impression under Slaven Bilic, making just 11 Premier League starts after his move from Borussia Munchengladbach last summer.
The 26-year-old is one of a number of players brought in at London Stadium last summer who have failed to make the grade, alongside the likes of Simone Zaza, Avlaro Arbeloa and Jonathan Calleri, all of whom have since left the club as well.
Our landlord has continued to make that point that, should Bilic want to improve on the mediocre first season in Stratford he will need to take serious control of the transfer business this time around, bringing in Premier League experienced players.
West Ham fans, we want to hear from you! Do you think Nordtveit could have ever succeeded at the club? Let us know in the comments below…
