The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are looking ahead to their weekend clash against West Ham with trepidation. It’s been a difficult few weeks for the Blues, and at present, a top-four finish is looking increasingly unlikely.
That said, Antonio Conte’s men can’t give up, and so a win against West Ham this weekend will be key.
However, if they play like they did against Tottenham, the Blues will have no chance of winning, and so a few major changes could be needed.
One player that certainly needs to be looked at is Cesc Fabregas. He has been poor for a few weeks now, and he was particularly dissapointing against the Lilywhites. A real Conte favourite, he’s been a near constant this season despite his mixed form.
We recently asked Chelsea fans about the prospect of him missing out on a start in the game, and it’s fair to say that most are in favour of that happening. When questioned on whether he should be dropped, a whopping 77% of fans responded saying that they would like to see it happen – whilst just 23% of fans appear to be on Fabregas’ side.

It’s no real surprise to see the Spaniard slowly falling out of the good books of the Blues’ faithful. He’s stopped creating much going forward, and his defensive deficiencies are clear for all to see.
With so much to fight for, Antonio Conte can’t afford to have any passengers. Perhaps Tiemoue Bakayoko deserves another chance.
