Everton keen to complete deal for experienced Dutch international

ron vlaarEverton fans playing pool in The a Transfer Tavern are discussing reports that the club could be set to make a move for a Dutch international.

The Liverpool Echo are reporting that the club are mulling over a January move for former Aston Villa defender Ron Vlaar.

The Merseyside club are looking to add competition for places at the back, and are also mindful that John Stones could leave the club and are looking at the possibility of an experienced player as back up.

30-year-old Vlaar has been looking for a club since the summer after deciding against a stay at Aston Villa, where he spent three seasons.

AC Milan and Inter Milan are both thought to be interested in the defender, but Vlaar himself is reported as wanting to stay in England. It is also reported that unnamed clubs in both Germany and Turkey have made approaches for the player.

The Everton fans in The Transfer Tavern are delighted that the club are looking to add experience to their back line as the only back up players in that position are Brendan Galloway and Tyias Browning.
