Everton to welcome back former Toffee in Goodison Park reunion?

Jack Rodwell Manchester City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are unsurprisingly worried about the future of Yaya Toure this summer after his hilarious cry baby antics.

While that all blows out of proportion, a series of ins and outs will be taking place at the club with a host of players set to leave in the hunt for first team football.

And according to The Mirror, Newcastle United and Everton are set to battle it out to land Jack Rodwell this summer after he became disillusioned about how much game time he was getting in Manchester.

He’s made just seven Premier League starts for the Citizens since joining from Everton in the summer of 2012.

The 23-year-old’s signature cost City ¬£12 million at the time having come through the youth ranks at Goodison Park.

Rodwell almost got his move away in January when he arranged deals with several Premier League clubs but he saw his move cancelled after Porto pulled the plug on Fernando’s move to the Etihad Stadium.

Two of those clubs were Newcastle and Everton and they’re believed to be fighting it out for his signature yet again.

But a move back ‘home’ to Everton could see Rodwell playing at Goodison Park next season with the lure of Europa League football also of interest to the midfielder as he tries to get back into Roy Hodgson’s England calculations.

Everton fans. Are you willing to forget the Rodwell walked out on your club, instead welcoming him back as one of your own? Let us know your thoughts below.
