Things are really beginning to heat up in the Football Transfer Tavern, as punters continue to debate whether or not Southampton ace Morgan Schneiderlin will be swapping St Marys for Old Trafford next season.
This transfer certainly looks like it is going to be dragged out, but according to the Daily Star the latest person to have a say on the matter is the former coach of the national team, Raymond Domenech, who was in charge of the side in the 06 and 10 World Cups, as well as Euro 2008.
According to Domenech, he believes it is vital for Schneiderlin to be playing in the Champions League next season. This is in order for him to compete with Blaise Matiuidi and Maxim Gonalons, both of whom are playing for PSG and Lyon in Europe’s elite competition respectively.
Subsequently, Domenech has been the latest man to endorse Schneiderlin moving to Old Trafford to reach the next stage of his career.
Further rumours are circulating that the Red Devils will eventually meet Southampton’s £25 million asking price. So, this transfer looks like it will eventually go through, and with Domenech planting further seeds of doubt in Schneiderlin’s mind regarding his European future, it seems certain that the midfield dynamo will be plying his trade elsewhere next season.
