Someone we are all too familiar with in the Football Transfer Tavern is wantaway Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder who has long been on the radar of a host of clubs and The Sun have linked him with yet another.
The Dutchman has been linked with just about everyone this transfer window since becoming a contract rebel at the San Siro, and the latest club to potentially land the player is Manchester United. Sir Alex Ferguson has been a long-term admirer of the player who despite not featuring in a game since September 26th is still one of the most coveted in football.
It had been thought that financial and personal issues with Robin van Persie would deter the player from signing with United, yet the player has now agreed to consider the club and could be available for a discounted £11 million. A January bargain indeed!
Sneijder point blank refused a £1.6 million pay cut at the San Siro and has consequently been froze out of the Italian side. The Dutchman stated: “It’s clear it is the best for everyone concerned that in January I am transferred.” Just where that will be too however is open to debate.
