Promotion hopefuls Leeds United matched up against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park in the Sky Bet Championship early kickoff on Saturday afternoon.
The first half produced some decent entertainment with Danny Graham heading the home team into an early lead within 2 minutes of the game kicking off. Blackburn held this lead until Mateusz Klich, one of Leeds’ standout performers this year, equalised on the stroke of halftime.
It was Leeds who would enter the second half of the game looking the most likely to score. Despite piling on the early pressure, the team failed to make their chances pay, and Blackburn took the lead through another headed goal in the 70th minute – this time from midfielder Darragh Lenihan.
The game finished 2-1 leaving Bielsa’s side in 4th place and Blackburn Rovers in 5th.
Out of all the performances, these two Leeds players stood out as the worst on the day…
The Macedonian winger hasn’t been able to secure any real consistency to his form this season, and the game yesterday was no exception. He looked simply lost on the left-hand side yesterday and failed miserably to carry out any of his ascribed duties. It says it all that his efforts, or lack off, earned him a lowly rating of 5 out of 10 from Sky Sports.
His attacking approach totally lacked any form of confidence or end product. Indeed, fans were quick to notice that he very rarely made any attempts to actually take it past any defenders, instead opting to deliver a hopeless cross.
The Northern Ireland international was placed in an unnatural role yesterday and the right-hand side of the pitch, and it showed. He failed to make any real impact offensively, and he certainly didn’t conduct his defensive very well.
From watching his performance, one can conclude fairly comprehensively that Dallas isn’t suited to ‘Bielsa-ball’, which has become such an integral part of the clubs tactical approach so far this season.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
