In a move that is sure to send Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern heading to the bar to top up their pints, Jamie Sanderson from Metro claims that Paris Saint Germain are considering making an offer for Arsenal right back Bacary Sagna.
Sanderson reports that the story has emerged from the French daily L’Equipe who have suggested that Sagna is one of their chief transfer concerns in the upcoming transfer window.
He later confirms to wide eyed punters that Carlo Ancelotti would be willing to offer up to £9.5 million to land the defender who is currently in a contract dispute with the North London outfit.
The 29-year-old’s contract expires at the end of next season and the player is looking for an attractive four year deal – something Arsenal are unwilling to offer.
If PSG bid the money suggested by Sanderson, it could be hard for Wenger to turn down as he already young England international Carl Jenkinson as a ready-made replacement for the French right back
The French side look set to do their winter shopping in the Premier League after being linked with Patrice Evra, Ashley Cole and Gael Clichy in recent weeks and Sagna could be another one making the cross-channel switch.
