Newcastle United have endured a tough time of things of late, and Ian Holymah of ESPN has arrived at the Football Transfer Tavern with yet more bad news for Magpies fans.
Star winger Hatem Ben Arfa has responded to speculation linking him with a move to French giants Paris Saint Germain by admitting it would be a ‘childhood dream’ to ply his trade in the French capital.
The former Lyon and Marseille midfielder is currently back in his homeland while he recovers from a hamstring problem, and spoke of the possibility of joining the French giants.
“I am under contract with Newcastle and I’m fine,” Ben Arfa said in an interview with Le Parisien.
“First, I must save my club. I only think of that. Help my team and my coach, with whom I get along great. We really want to fight for him.
“The fans are great, too. Once we have saved the club, you never know. To sign for PSG would be a childhood dream. If there is a proposal, I will study it with interest. If there is a proposal. The ‘if’ is important.”
Alan Pardew has endured a winter of discontent so far, losing top scorer Demba Ba to Chelsea for just £7 million, while reports recently surfaced that Fabricio Coloccini wants to leave St. James’ Park in order to return home to Argentina.
Pardew won’t want to lose the tricky Ben Arfa this month with the playmaker viewed as crucial in helping the Tyneside club turn their struggling season around.
