Despite finishing runners-up in their home Champions League final against Chelsea last season, Bayern Munich are still an outfit boasting numerous talents and as Mundo Deportivo reports, the Bavarians have been boosted by the news that Thomas Muller has signed an extension to his deal, taking him through to 2017.
Bayern are sweeping all before them this term, racing to a massive lead domestically and topping their group in Europe. Most teams will want to avoid them in the Champions League knockout stages, especially given the added incentive of last year’s slip up, and with the boost that they have secured another one of their key player’s long term future, things are certainly going well for the club.
Whilst our punters here are more mesmorised by the changing lights of the Allianz Arena than they are by the teams’ style of play, Munich have acted quickly in tying Muller down to 2017 and it says a great deal about the clubs ambition that he has been persuaded to stay.
Chairman of the Board Karl-Heinz Rumminegge said Muller is a “very important player for the team” and agreeing the early renewal shows “further proof Muller is identified with Bayern.”
