The Rangers fans here in the Transfer Tavern are so glad the season is over at long last and the punters propping up our bar are excited for life under Steven Gerrard. With Scott Arfield already through the door at Ibrox, our local Light Blues are now eager for more recruits to arrive ahead of what is hopefully a much closer challenge of Celtic.
So, having said, the collective attention amongst our resident Gers has been centred around further transfer targets. As you can imagine, a number of names have been mentioned from every corner of the Rangers support, though an interesting option has indeed emerged.
Some of our locals are suggesting the Gers make a move for a man who recently notched against them, a certain Florian Kamberi. The 23-year-old proved a revelation after joining Hibernian from Grasshoppers on loan in January, bagging six goals in 9 league games for the Hibees, including a great nearly during the thrilling draw at Easter Road on the last day of the campaign.
Kamberi proved he can score goals in Scotland. While he’s not the quickest player in the world, the Swiss relies on his movement and hold-up ability to cause problems in the final third and would be a wonderful alternative to the likes of Alfredo Morleos and potentially Jason Cummings.
Valued at just £450k by Transfermarkt, he’d be a great signing for Rangers.
