Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern are delighted to see their club linked with 22-year-old Bayer Leverkusen defender, Jonathan Tah. A story By Neil Moxley in the Mirror yesterday claimed that Pochettino is an admirer of the centre-back and wants to bring him in to replace Toby Alderweireld, who may leave the North London club this summer.

Tah, who played against Tottenham twice in last season’s Champions League group stage, has already amassed seven caps for Germany at the age of just 22. The defender, who’s rated at £22.5 million by the good people over at Transfermarkt, has been a key figure in a tough Leverkusen defence that’s shipped just 33 goals in 25 games this season. Leverkusen currently sit in 5th place in the Bundesliga and find themselves well in the mix for a Champions League place, just two points behind second-placed Borussia Dortmund.
The news linking Spurs with Tah comes amidst rumours that Tottenham’s star centre-back, Toby Alderweireld, is to leave the North London club in the summer after contract talks broke down when the player and the club couldn’t agree on personal terms. Spurs boss, Daniel Levy, is apparently unwilling to break the clubs strict wage structure that prevents any player earning over £100,000 per week.
Here’s what Spurs fans make of the rumours surrounding Tah:
