The Daily Mail have claimed that Clarence Seedorf, a former Dutch international may be on his way to White Hart Lane in a shock move which will see the North London club approach the free transfer once he leaves AC Milan.
Even though the 36 year old was linked to a move to the Etihad last season for a rumoured £20 million which he declined, offers from a vast range of countries including the UAE, China and Brazil would be hard to decline at his age.
However, with 4 Champions League winners’ medals round his neck and playing for clubs including Milan, Ajax and Real Madrid, his experience would surely be worth the price?
Personally, I disagree. With Tottenham looking to press for a Champions League place next season, they need to bring in players who can keep up with the pace of football Spurs play. With players including Lennon, Bale and Defoe, it is difficult for a player of 36 years or even Van Der Vaart at 29 years to keep up with the pace of Tottenham’s football.
Harry Redknapp and Clarence Seedorf getting on famously yesterday whilst covering the EURO’s for the BBC and the two working as pundits. As Harry is known to be appreciative of what senior players can offer a side this is only likely to add fuel to the fire.
