Don’t get too excited Spurs fans, because it’s not Messi, Higuain, Aguero or Tevez. According to tuttomercatoweb.com it’s Espanyol’s front man Daniel Osvaldo… And if the name doesn’t ring a bell at International level, that’s because the half Italian chose to represent ‘the boot’ for the Under 21’s .
So in a season that has seen Spurs miss out at another crack of the Champions league it’s now time to recruit and invest in fire power that they have clearly lacked this term.
As an Arsenal fan, it pains me to say… but credit where credit is due. Harry Redknapp has done a sensational job at the lane since coming in and has injected a positive vibe into, not only the club but also the premiership to ensure that Tottenham are a force to be recognised. But in my opinion he dropped a major clanger in January…
So as your strike force are struggling to even spell the word goal, why-O-why would you loan the most prolific scorer in the squad (Robbie Keane- 123 goals) to arch rivals West-Ham?
Many may argue he is past it, but throw him on for the last 20 minutes and he is always a threat… (Despite the miss of the season against Blackburn last week)
Back to the matter in hand, Osvaldo has played in Argentina, Italy and Spain hitting the net for every club who have employed the 25 year old. He has smashed 19 goals in 42 appearances for the Spaniards, just 12 goals behind what all three strikers have accumulated all season at the Lane, minus Van der Vaart of course.
Sources in Italy claim a €17 million bid has been rejected for the danger-man whose form has also attracted the likes of, Fulham, United, City and Everton to observe him.
The fee seems rather hasty and with the North Londoners rumoured to be interested in the likes of Drogba, Van Nistelrooy, Aguero and last summer heavily linked with Diego Forlan, I believe Harry will look to invest his money more wisely into someone proven playing at the top level.
